Casino Smarts!

July 27th, 2007

There are all kinds of smarts - there’s street smart there’s book smart and there’s casino smart. And if you are going to gamble your hard earned money in the casino it pays to learn a little bit about the game you’re playing, or in my case the slot machine you’re playing. Go online and you can find out anything you need to about gambling, or you can log on to your favorite Blog and ask that genius of a gambler Lucky Charm for advice. He can’t spell but boy is he a sharp one! Back to the story…

I was at Ballys Atlantic City last weekend with the family playing a dollar slot machine with my wife, triple sevens was the name of the slot machine. She’s playing three dollars a spin the max on that machine, when all of a sudden we hit a seven, first reel, a triple symbol the second reel, and the third reel just kept on spinning. It was about five minutes before the slot supervisor decided to come over. He said to me and my wife, “oh it looks like we have a tilt here”. I said, “A tilt? And what do we do?” He said we shut the machine down and reset it.  I said, “what do we win?” He said, “it’s a tilt you win nothing.” I said, “excuse me, if we win nothing we’re going to have a problem.” The floor supervisor looked at me with a very confused look at that point.

The reels on the slot machine have nothing to do with deciding if you’re a winner or not, I explained. The reels spin just to give you something to stare at while you’re gambling. As soon as you pull that handle or push the button on the machine there’s a computer chip called the random number generator, that’s RNG, that knows instantly if you won or lost. I again was stared at with that same dumb look by the slot supervisor; sure enough he shut the machine down. And as soon as he turned it back on, the machine went back to the sequence before. But this time the third reel stopped spinning stopping on a seven, giving me and my wife a two hundred and fifty dollar hit. Like I said guys, read our Blog and read those books on gambling, and make your self casino smart. I guarantee you will be smarter than 90% of the people working in the casino. And when you’re casino smart and you know what’s going on around you, you can protect your money a lot better from casino workers who don’t have a clue of what’s going on. Good Luck! And we hope to see you at the tables a lot smarter.

Scratch This!

July 9th, 2007

Every one is always asking me about the scratch off games, the games you can buy just about in any store. I get all type of questions, like can you really win a $1,000,000 dollars playing these games, and what are the best games to play. These games are sold in all denominations; they come in $1, $2, $5, $10 and $20 games, they are controlled by your states lottery control board so there’s no worrying about scams or cheating (chuckle).

There are a few things you should know, YES you can win millions of dollars scratching these games. The question is what games you should play, the thing I do is go on my states lottery website, and every state that has a lottery, has a web site. I find a game that I would like to play and I see if the jackpot on that game was hit and how many winners there are on that particular game. Also these games sort of work like slot machines the higher denominations; you play the better odds you have of winning. So Scratch This, Good Luck! And I hope to see you at the tables.

Sad Times For The World Series of Poker

July 3rd, 2007

We talked about the World Series of Poker back in January, how a guy named Chris Moneymaker shocked the poker world back in 2003. With $25.00 bucks and a dream he shocked and satelited his way through a poker web site  by winning the World Series of Poker, forever changing the face of poker.

Fast foward to 2006 a shit head named Jamie Gold [ as you can tell not to fond of Jamie] won the World Series of Poker in 06, by playing on Bodogs site, there where 800 people who played in the World Series of Poker in 03, there where over 8000 people in 06. No body is sure how many people will come out for this years World Series of Poker,  if you live in the United States theres no more poker web sites for dreamers, the $25.00 chance to win a 10,000 dollar seat in World Series of Poker no longer exsists. Congress passed there law banning online gambling, this truly is Sad Times For The World Series of Poker. So stop crying and we hope to see you at the tables.

Great Poker Great Food

June 30th, 2007

I was at a great Poker party the other night. Just a few friends at a close friends house. We played tournoment style, so it was all fun and no one could get hurt for more than $60. The host mentioned he joined a cooking web site http://www.chef-assistant.com/ that helped him prepare all the great food. He had never cooked before in his life . The food was so good that I just had to mention it here and wanted to give the web site a plug for a job well done. See sometimes you don’t need a casino to have a great time. Try to remember the fun in gambling is not always the money sometimes its the food!!!

Hope to see you at the tables

Texas Holdem Rules

June 13th, 2007

The Shuffle, The Deal and The BlindsThe dealer shuffles a standard 52-card deck.

The dealer shuffles a standard 52-card deck.(In casinos, the dealer never plays. A round disc — known as a “dealer button” — moves clockwise from player to player with each hand. The button marks which player would be the dealer if the deal were advanced from player to player as the game went along.)

Most Texas Hold ‘Em Poker games start with the two players to the left of the dealer (the button) putting a predetermined amount of money into the pot before any cards are dealt, ensuring that there’s something to play for on every hand.

This is called “posting the blinds.” Most often, the “first blind” — the player to the left of the dealer — puts up half the minimum bet, and the “second blind” puts up the full minimum bet.

Each player is dealt two cards, face down. These are known as the “hole cards.”

Betting BeginsA round of betting takes place, beginning with the player to the left of the two who posted the blinds. Players can call, raise, or fold when it’s their turn to bet.

Players can call, raise, or fold when it’s their turn to bet.The FlopAfter the first betting round, the dealer discards the top card of the deck. This is called burning the card and is done to ensure that no one accidentally saw the top card, and to help prevent cheating.

After the first betting round, the dealer discards the top card of the deck. This is called burning the card and is done to ensure that no one accidentally saw the top card, and to help prevent cheating. The dealer then flips the next three cards face up on the table. These cards are called the “flop.”

NOTE: Eventually, a total of five community cards will be placed face up on the table. Players can use any combination of the community cards and their own two hole cards to form the best possible five-card Poker hand. After the flop, another round of betting takes place, beginning with the player to the left of the dealer (the button). During this and all future rounds of betting, players can check, call, raise, or fold when it’s their turn to bet.

After the flop, another round of betting takes place, beginning with the player to the left of the dealer (the button). During this and all future rounds of betting, players can check, call, raise, or fold when it’s their turn to bet.Fourth StreetThe dealer burns another card and plays one more face up onto the table. This, the fourth community card, is called the “turn” or “Fourth Street.”

The dealer burns another card and plays one more face up onto the table. This, the fourth community card, is called the “turn” or “Fourth Street.”The player to the left of the dealer (the button) begins the third round of betting.

Fifth StreetThe dealer burns another card before placing the final face-up card on the table. This card is called the “river” or “Fifth Street.”

This card is called the “river” or “Fifth Street.”Final Betting and The WinnerPlayers can now use any combination of seven cards — the five community cards and the two hole cards known only to them — to form the best possible five-card Poker hand.

Players can now use any combination of seven cards — the five community cards and the two hole cards known only to them — to form the best possible five-card Poker hand. The fourth and final round of betting starts with the player to the left of the dealer (the button).

After the final betting round, all players who remain in the game reveal their hands. The player who made the initial bet or the player who made the last raise shows their hand first.

The player with the best hand wins.

Hope to see you at the tables

What a streak!

May 7th, 2007

Great gambling story, we’re at the Borgata in AC. The Arm, the Brain and Lucky Charm. This sounds like a Science fiction movie! It’s probably around 11pm, we’re staying at Caesars, so just before we leave to go, I turn around to the guys and say let me waste $20 on the roulette table and we’re out of here. I look at the Brain and say give me a sequence of colors to play on roulette. He says sure: red, red, black. Bing, we now turn the $20 into $160. I look at the brain and I said give me one more, he says fine black. Bing, it comes in, we’re up to $320, that’s 4 hits in a row.

Hey not bad. I look at the Arm, we call him the arm because he is an expert dice thrower. Should we pull out? He says, I would have pulled out when we doubled it to $40! We all laugh, now all the Borgata babes are starting to smile at us and gather around us they can sense a streak. And people, the KEY to gambling is to realize when you’re on a streak. I then go on to hit 2 numbers in a row 8 and 2, $5 a number at 36 to1 where now up over the $600 mark. Not bad for a twenty dollar start. The amazing part of the streak is not the two separate numbers I hit, but the Brain goes on and hit 5 more colors in a row, that’s 9 altogether, simply amazing. If you want to know how the brain did this just send us $1000.00 and he will show you how, we call him the brain because he is one of the smartest gamblers on the planet earth.

By the way where not looking for $1000.00 a person, four people can chip in and pay $250.00 each, hey just give us your email address, and the price to find out the Brain’s method is negotiable. We hope to see you at the tables.

Slots

May 3rd, 2007

Check out this great Slots artical I found on EzineArticals.com:

Slots are wildly popular in the casino. In fact, slots offer the biggest potential payoff of any game in the casino. For decades, brick and mortar slots were the only way to get paid millions from slot play. However, the Internet news is constantly a buzz with new million dollar slot jackpots at various online casinos. Walk into any casino in Las Vegas and you will find slot players with their own version of how the slot game works. Today we are going to take a look at some popular slot myths and bust them.

Myth One: It’s luc
